Green Mark Herbs

Our farm lies at the edge of Awassa (Hawassa) in the Ethiopian Rift Valley, on the shore of Lake Awassa and about 250 km south of Addis Ababa.

Green Mark Herbs — tradition, quality and social responsibility from Ethiopia

We are more than a producer of fresh herbs. Rooted in Ethiopia’s herbal tradition, we farm sustainably and take social responsibility seriously. Our herbs are grown under the best conditions — which benefits the environment and the people around the farm. Working closely with growers in the region, we uphold fair labour practices and contribute to the economic development of the area.

Contribution to the community

Our irrigation systems make the most of rainfall, filtered groundwater and natural fertilisers, in the most environmentally friendly way we can manage.

We take our social responsibility seriously and have started a number of projects for the people around the farm. One example: our management team obtained a container of 20,000 English-language books and had them distributed to public schools and libraries in Awassa. The farm handled transport and interim storage.
