Lemongrass

Freshly harvested herb stalks packed in a lined crate

Fresh Lemongrass from Ethiopia — Wholesale Supply

Cymbopogon citratus

Lemongrass is a tropical perennial grass, harvested as stalks and trimmed to a uniform length. It is the most robust line in our range: the woody stalk travels and stores better than any leaf herb.

Culinary use

Citrus aroma without the acidity of lemon. Central to Thai and Vietnamese cooking — tom yum and other soups, curry pastes, marinades and grilled dishes — and used for teas and infusions. The lower stalk is bruised or finely sliced; the upper stalk flavours a broth and is removed before serving.

Handling

Keep cold and prevent the cut ends from drying out. Because the stalk is woody, lemongrass tolerates handling that would damage a leaf herb. We agree the transport temperature with you.
